- One-way island-to-mainland: 37.7 statute miles (shortest route). One solo success (Penny Palfrey in 2008) and two relay successes.
- One-way mainland-to-island: Never attempted.
- Santa Barbara Island to or from Catalina Island: 24.4 statute miles. Attempted but no successes.
- Circumnavigation: Approximately 5.0 statute miles. Never attempted.
Current through end of 2012.
There have been only three swims (one solo and two relay) from this island, so there's not much data to draw from.
The shortest route is between the north end of Santa Barbara Island and Point Dume, near Malibu (37.7 statute miles).
A finish at Point Vicente is slightly longer (40 miles), but would allow for more NW-to-SE current drift. This was the route chosen by Penny Palfrey.
