Observer Training is Saturday, May 30th

dave vm Marathon swimming could not exist if it were not for the officials (Observers) who attend each attempted marathon swim to verify that our strict rules are followed and each swimmer remains safe.

If you have ever done a marathon swim, volunteering to observe is a great way to give back to your sport. If every marathon swimmer from each previous year would do a single observation, the various marathon swimming organizations would easily have all marathon attempts covered.

This season, observer Training will be held in Santa Barbara on May 30 (Saturday) at the Cabrillo Bathhouse on East Beach. The training will be held from 9am to 1pm.

Cabrillo Bath House at East Beach
1118 East Cabrillo Blvd
Santa Barbara CA 93101

The SBCSA encourages observers, swimmers and support crews to attend this no cost, half day event. There will be no CPR/AED training offered this year. Instead, the course will focus fully on observation skills. Coffee will be served in the morning while pizza, salad and soft drinks will follow the event. We kindly ask you to RSVP as space is limited.

Please consider being an observer this year. Your sport needs you!
